… that’s pretty much how I spent my night.

After work tonight, pretty much the only thing that sounded good to me was heading over to my parents’ house for dinner. I don’t know what it is but there’s just something really comforting about hanging out in my parents’ home and eating a dinner made by my mom. So I rounded up the dogs and made my way over.

Dinner was roasted garlic mahi with corn and black beans.

And I decided to bust into their stash of leftover Christmas cooke dough. 😉

The dough was frozen in a giant block that was never going to thaw out so I decided to pop it in the microwave on low heat for a few minutes.

I was a little worried it was going to be a disaster but it actually worked like a charm.

Freshly baked walnut chocolate chunk cookies – it doesn’t get much better than that.

My mom made some chamomile tea and we ate our cookies while catching up on the latest episode of Castle (I had gotten my parents hooked on Castle when I lived with them).

The dogs had a fun night – Eddy chewed happily on his bone while Jelly watched,

and Alan cozied up in my parents’ dog Hank’s new dog bed.

It was the ultimate comfort night. 🙂

Now I’m home and couldn’t be more ready for bed. I hope you’re having a great night whether you’re out and about or just relaxing like me.

See you tomorrow!
